Discovered this one earlier last week while listening to Anenon’s mix for the XLR8R podcast series (also very much worth tuning in to).
It’s a quiet song that sways into moments of tense, emotionally-charged releases, and the whole thing’s just so beautifully devastating in its subdued demeanor that you can’t help but stop whatever it is you’re doing and listen.
Play it enough times during the after hours, and you’ll fall asleep dreaming of grainy film noir worlds decaying to dust in the ether.

It’s amazing what digging through old files on your hard drive unearths. This short track was a teaser clip I produced for a design project in my last year at UCLA. It was never used for the final piece, but I remember being really fond of it because, wow – by accident it kind of sounded like it belonged to a film!
I always vowed I’d flesh it out after graduation. I imagined that, with school no longer getting in my way, I’d have the leisure to obsess over building up those basic audio production skills gleaned from Sound Design.
Then, life hit; of course, four years later the idea’s been long lost to the furthest depths of my mind.
But rediscovering this track today brought back those warm feelings…
Maybe, after all this time, I’ll get around to it.
